The Roman mosaics in the House of Dionysus in the Paphos Archaeological Park on the island of Cyprus are some of the finest in the world. They were discovered in 1887 and date back to the 3rd century AD. The mosaics depict scenes from Greek mythology, including the birth of Dionysus, the god of wine, and the punishment of Leda and her swan.
