Detail of the Pisa Baptistery of St. John, Battistero di San Giovanni, is a Roman Catholic ecclesiastical building in Piazza dei Miracoli Pisa, Tuscany, Italy. It is the largest baptistery in Italy and is an example of the transition from the Romanesque style to the Gothic style. The name Piazza dei Miracoli was coined by the Italian writer and poet Gabriele d`Annunzio. In 1987, the whole square was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
