Pictured is a Texas Trail of Fame star honoring the the pioneer Simon Bowden Farrar in the Fort Worth Stockyards in Texas. Farrar was a Texas Ranger who accompanied Major Ripley A. Arnold and others to establish a fort in 1849 that was named Fort Worth. The Texas Trail of Fame was established in 1997 to honor those who have made a significant contribution to our Western way of life. Throughout the walkways of the Fort Worth National Historic District, bronze inlaid markers have been placed in honor of their achievements.
