Pictured is a Texas Trail of Fame star honoring the boot & saddle maker Leon White in the Fort Worth Stockyards in Texas. He was an immigrant from Poland in 1886 and started his business in Bryan, Texas producing custom made boots by hand. He eventually opened a shop at 2461 North Main Street in Fort Worth and expanded his operation to include saddles. He operated the next 50 years. The Texas Trail of Fame was established in 1997 to honor those who have made a significant contribution to our Western way of life. Throughout the walkways of the Fort Worth National Historic District, bronze inlaid markers have been placed in honor of their achievements.
