Pictured is a Texas Trail of Fame star honoring the explorers Lewis and Clark. Their `Corps of Discovery` expedition, May 1804 to September 1806, which was hailed as the most significant and successful exploration in the history of the world, opening up the western United States. The Texas Trail of Fame was established in 1997 to honor those who have made a significant contribution to our Western way of life. Throughout the walkways of the Fort Worth National Historic District, bronze inlaid markers have been placed in honor of their achievements.
