Budapest is divided into two parts by the Danube River, Buda and Pace. The Széchenyi Chain Bridge is the first Suspension bridge across the Danube River to connect Buda on the west bank and Pace on the east bank. It is considered to be a symbol of Budapest city, and was completed in 1849.
