Surva 2016, Pernik, Bulgaria Surva, the International Festival of Masquerade Games is the biggest event of this kind in Bulgaria and on the Balkan Peninsula. It promotes the ancient Bulgarian customs and traditions that are still alive today. It is also a contest for the living vessels of this tradition, namely Kukeri and Survakari.
