The Surabaya statue is a statue which is the symbol of the city of Surabaya. This statue is in front of the Surabaya Zoo. This statue consists of two animals, namely a crocodile and a shark which inspired the name of the city of Surabaya: ikan sura & x28;shark& x29; and baya & x28;crocodile& x29;. This statue was built in 1988 by a craftsman named Sigit Margono with cement and was architected by Sutomo Kusnadi. This statue has survived to this day, despite the story of the past, this statue became a symbol of the courage of the young people of the city of Surabaya to defend their territory.
