Lord Cromwell,said to be the finest piece of brickwork in England.After Lord Cromwells death in 1456 the castle fell into neglect untill 1911. It was then purchaced and restored by Lod Curzon of Keddleston, on his death in 1925 Lord Curzon left the property to the National Trust
