rynek glowny - the main square of the old town in krakow, regular, square, at the intersection of 11 streets. in the middle of the market square there is a historical building called the sukiennice.today, there are two rows of stalls in the sukiennice, mainly with jewelry, souvenirs and handicrafts.In the foreground is the sculpture eros bendato. made in 1999, the sculpture weighs 1900 kg, is 370 cm long, 290 cm wide and 225 cm high. it is one of three copies, one of which went to lugano, the other to krakow, and the third was kept by the artist himself. the work of igor mitoraj has been standing under the town hall tower on the main market square in krakow since 2005. initially, the location of the sculpture aroused a lot of controversy. with time, eros grew into the landscape of the market square and became one of its symbols.
