Historically, Staithes was one of the busiest fishing ports on the Yorkshire coast. Now this picturesque coastal village, is a tourist destination attracting many visitors per year. This view shows the southern side of the harbour, looking out to sea. One of Staithes most famous sons was captain James Cook, the famous explorer.
