Historical Landmarks, Charlton, Ma 1766, and moved 1823.. On the northeast corner of the lot stood the old rider store and woodhouse. Originally, it was the northeast wing of Rider Tavern and moved to spot where sign is now in 1823, and leased to Nicholas Briard. The small red school was located at the opposite end of the lot where the foundations can still be seen. Built in 1766 it was replaced by the new district 2 in the 1840's
