St Paul's Cathedral, which dominates the narrow streets of Mdina with its magnificent ornate facade, is a 17th century building dedicated to St Paul. The cathedral was built in the area where the saint supposedly converted the Roman governor Publius to Christianity, and was built on top of the ruins of a 4th century church.
