The Dominicans have been in San Francisco since 1850,with this church,on Bush and Steiner Streets in the Western Addition neighborhood,going back to 1928. Work continued until 1973,just in time for the centennial of Saint Dominic. After the Loma Prieta Earthquake of 1989,the nine Flying Buttresses needed to be added for stability. As a church,St Dominic's has the Shrine of St Jude,The Patron of Difficult Causes. As seen 22 March 2023.
