The speckled forest pitviper (Bothrops taeniatus taeniatus) is an extremely well camouflaged,rarely seen,snake species found in the forest canopy of the Amazon forest of South America.They have heat sensing pits with which they can detect the smallest (0.2C) change in body temperature so they can hunt in the pitch dark rainforest at night.
