Pictured is a snowy egret, binomial name Egretta thula perched on the roots of mango trees on the shore of Chokoloskee Bay in Florida. The birds eat fish, crustaceans, insects, small reptiles, snails, frogs, toads, and worms. Chokoloskee Bay is roughly ten miles long and two miles wide. It is located on Florida's Gulf Coast and is separated from the Gulf of Mexico by the Ten Thousand Islands.
