A long, thin snake with large, keeled scales. Eyes large, convex. Color varies, but usually yellowish with black spots and stripes, sometimes black with yellow spots. Widespread in Central America and much of South America. Occurs in wet and dry tropical forests, on trees and shrubs. Willingly swims and it climbs trees. Not poisonous, but aggressive.
