Along the Dalmation coast going south frolm Treviso to Greece Markaska is situated south of the Croaton sea capital of Split, north of Ston and famous haunts of those who abandoned the French Riviera for more pure waters to historical Greece beyond Monte Negro. Lush and agrarian, the countryside is changing every year to cement and construction for the tourish industry. Local fishing and oenoelogical traditions fall to the way side and imitation icecream and industrialised, frozen foods take the place of local fried potatoes sizzling in local olive oil and rosemary. These sultry afternoons can be captured between the several loud, carousing introductions of boatlaods of merrymakers visiting the islands all around and th'e moutains in the distance' that( helps keep the waters cool....
