Pictured is a single white four petal flower and DYC`s along the Bluebonnet Trail in Ennis, Texas. The term DYC is a jocular term for damned yellow composite, any of the numerous species of composite flowers of the family Asteraceae that have yellow flowers and can be difficult to tell apart in the field. Notable individuals who referred to these difficult yellow composites as `DYCs` include Oliver Sacks and Lady Bird Johnson.
