Singing Beach gets its name from the sand that "sings" when you walk on it. Actually, reports say that it's more of a "squeak" than a melody, but you get the point. Conditions must be right for this phenomena to occur; not too wet, not too dry, etc. There are many sandy places in the US that exhibit this phenomenon and the more unsettling occurence of "booming" sand. Many are in deserts, so it's not the ocean that's doing it.
