Shimen Reservoir is one of the main reservoirs in northern Taiwan, located in the Shimen Canyon between Daxi District and Guanxi Township in Taoyuan City. Shihmen Reservoir used to be the largest reservoir in the Far East. It was formed by quarrying earth and stone embankment-type dams and intercepting the water from Dahan Stream. It is the first multi-functional reservoir in Taiwan
