Shell ginger plant (Alpinia zerumbet) also known as shellplant, pink porcelain lily, variegated ginger and butterfly ginger is a perennial herb native to parts of South East Asia and China. it is known for its striking foliage which has cascades of drooping flowers. It can be used as a spice the same as normal ginger and the leaves can be made into a tea or wrap for cooking.
