Composer and lyricist Sheldon Harnick arrives for the 70th Annual Tony Awards Meet the Nominees press reception. The event was held at the Diamond Horseshoe at the Paramount Hotel in mid-town Manhattan on May 4, 2016. Harnick, was presented with the Lifetime Achievement for Contributions to the Theater. Five days earlier he turned 92. Harnick had won a Grammy as well as 2 Tonys prior to his honorary Tony. He died in his sleep in New York City at the age of 99, on June 23, 2023.
