Saltpond fishing village in Coastal Ghana (Western Africa). Fishermen share fresh fish catch among themselves. They use aluminium bowls to measure even portions. The sharing is supervised by elderly people. The main food in the village is fish caught in two ways: either by net fishing from wooden boats or by a communal net fishing from beach. In a communal fishing, boats first carry empty nets from beach to open sea, while two ends of net ropes remaining attached to palm trees. After the nets are disposed from boats to water, people start to pull the rope ends, which moves the net toward land. Approximately 60-80 people are involved in pulling one net. To coordinate their work, people sing African shanties. Finally, a fish catch is divided among fishermen.
