We tend to think of trees as good ways to 'Block strong winds' and 'Soaking up lots of excess water',as many trees can live hundreds of years,and some can even live thousands of years. But given a good combination of enough rains and winds,almost anything can be knocked down. This sidewalk tree in The Mission District of San Francisco is meant to provide shade and help beautify the streets. But during period of too much and continuous rains,it did not require too much wind to finally bring down this tree,and block two lanes of the street. As witnessed 23 March 2023.
