Mount Semeru or Mount Meru is a conical volcano in East Java, Indonesia. Mount Semeru is the highest mountain on the island of Java, with the peak Mahameru, 3,676 meters above sea level. This mountain was formed due to the subduction of the Indo-Australian Plate under the Eurasian Plate.
