Pictured is an oil on canvas titled Self-Portrait by Paul Gauguin in the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth, Texas. It was created in 1885 and is the first of many self-portraits in which Gauguin sought to explore his dark inner psyche. The French artist was born in 1848 and died in 1903.
