Hampi, a UNESCO world heritage site, is known for its magnificent temples and one such fine specimen is Sasivekalu Ganesha Temple. The temple is a huge statue of Lord Ganesha, carved out of a single block of rock. It is one of the major landmarks in Hampi. The giant monolithic Ganesha statue is locally called Sasivekalu (mustard seed) Ganesha. It is located on the southern foothill of the Hemakuta Hill.
