As ships travel through the water,due to the earths natural magnetic poles,a unique `magnetic signature` is created by the ships. `Enemy` listening devices can then pick up and track the ships movements. This facility on San Francisco Bay,was one of the places ships were able to be `silenced`. As seen 29 August 2017.
