Despite the rich historic and cultural past of The Tenderloin, or just plain TL, it has fallen, and forgotten, into decay. Even the exact source of the name itself, is forgotten. The Cadillac Hotel San Francisco was built in 1907 to show the city was coming back, after the devastating earthquake of 1906. Time progressed and history progressed, but the hotel and neighborhood got left behind. The Cadillac is now a Single Residence Occupancy hotel, which also houses the Tenderloin Museum, telling the history of the neighborhood, so it is not forgotten.
