This was founded by samuel j. gorlitz and is considered one of the first modern shopping centers in the usa with dedicated parking. It was built in 1931 and designed around the automobile. Considered revolutionary in its day it changed how people shopped and addressed the problems of curbside parking. Now shopping centers would have dedicated parking.
