Architecture details at the Sher Dor Madrasah at the Registan, Samarkand, Uzbekistan. Registan is one of the most relevant exsamples of islamic architecture. It consists of three buildings: Madrasah of Ulugh Beg, 1417-1420, Sher Dor Madrasah, Lions Gate, 1619-1636 and Tilya Kori Madrasah, 1647-1660. The Registan was the heart of the ancient city of Samarkand of the Timurid dynasty.
