Pictured is a Russian Yakovlev Yak-52 trainer aircraft at Grand Lake Regional Airport, Oklahoma, on July 4th, 2023. It flew with a group of World War II War Birds that take part in the annual 4th of July fireworks display at Duck Creek. The show has a tradition of over 80 years, and is the largest fireworks display in Oklahoma. The Yak-52 was designed as an aerobatic trainer for students in the Soviet Volunteer Society for Cooperation with the Army, Aviation, and Navy training organization, abbreviated the DOSAAF, which trained civilian sport pilots and military pilots. It was produced from 1978 to 1998 by Aerostar.
