Borsec (Hungarian: Borszék, German: Bad Borseck) is a town in Harghita County, Transylvania, Romania. It has a population of 2,585, with a majority of ethnic Hungarians. The town owes its reputation to mineral water resources with rich therapeutic qualities, waters that received the medal of the Vienna International Fair (1873) - Borsec water being called the "Queen of Mineral Waters", the silver medal and Diploma of Honor at the exhibitions organized in 1876 in Berlin and Trieste respectively, Diploma of Honor of the Paris Exhibition (1878).
