Our Severn Class Lifeboat 17-35 was placed on service on 11 February 2003. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth officially named the lifeboat Sybil Mullen Glover at Queen Anne’s Battery Marina on 23 July 2003.Moored afloat in the marina she is as an all-weather lifeboat, the Severn Class can take on the worst sea conditions and comes into her own on long offshore searches and rescues. She may be the largest lifeboat in the RNLI fleet, but our Severn class lifeboat is very agile. Should she capsize in severe weather, she will automatically right herself within a few seconds.The Severn Class has a crew compliment of 7. A displacement 42 tonnes and can reach 25 knots of speed.
