Pictured is the right portal of the The Basilica of San Petronio in the Main Square of Bologna, Italy. In the tympanum is Deposition from the Cross, the Virgin St. Mary and St. John the Evangelist. Nicodemus and Christ was sculpted by Amico Aspertini, the Virgin by Il Tribolo, and Saint John by Ercole Seccadenari. Surrounding bas-reliefs were by Amico Aspertini, Alfonso Lombardi and Properzia de’ Rossi, one of the rare female sculptors of the Renaissance.
