The Gilder Center is executed according to the design of Studio Gang, a powerful Chicago architecture firm whose director is Jeanne Gang, creator of the world's tallest skyscraper designed by a woman. But to the point: the action not only includes the creation of a new museum space, with an entrance on Columbus Avenue (in case you dare), it also creates more than thirty connections between the more than twenty buildings that make up the museum complex. In total, 21,300 square meters have been renovated or expanded, with a very particular concept: the simulation of a geological formation. In other words, the architect imagined a mountain that natural effects (wind, water, etc.) deformed, creating paths and interior grottoes. This artificial geological formation is used to house new classrooms and natural learning spaces.
