Pictured is a bronze sculpture on a concrete base created by sculptor Erwin Binder titled `Requiem`. It is located in the east court between the Alumni Memorial Hall and the Frankel wing of the University of Michigan Museum of Art. It was created in 1988. The abstract sculpture represents an eternal flame, whose winglike quality suggests freedom of flight. It was intended to commemorate the defenders of the constitution.
