Landshut is a city in Bavaria in the south-east of Germany located on the Isar River. The city has a population of more than 60,000. It is one of the richest industrialized cities in Bavaria with an unemployment rate of 1.1% (October 2013). The city is of national importance because of its predominantly Gothic architecture, especially Trausnitz Castle and the Church of Saint Martin featuring the world's tallest brick tower.
