August Hermann Niemeyer (September 1, 1754 in Halle (Saale) - July 7, 1828 in Glaucha) was a German theologian, pedagogue, librettist, lyricist, travel writer, Protestant hymn writer and Prussian educational politician. Niemeyer achieved fame as the director of the Francke Foundations, among other things. September 17, 2023
