Calton Hill is a hill located in the center of Edinburgh (Scotland), home to a busy public park. The hill has been designated a "Site of Scientific Interest" by the Scottish Natural Heritage, and contains numerous architectural elements of historic and tourist interest. Archaeological evidence, in fact, testify that the hill was inhabited since the Bronze Age. On top of Calton Hill are celebrated several festivals, including the Gaelic festival of Beltane (Beltane Fire Festival), which annually attracts tens of thousands of participants.
