Lake Argyle Western Australia is the second largest man made lake in the Australia. The Ord River was dammed in 1963. This resulted in the homestead and some of the property of the Durack family, early settlers in Australia to be flooded. The original homestead was relocated. and is now a tourist attraction. The Lake is 980 square kilometers.
