Pictured is a red sandstone 2nd century pillar figure on display in the Dallas Museum of Art in Dallas, Texas. The figure probably ornamented the railing of a Buddhist stupa in the Mathura region of the Kushan empire in India. She is standing atop a monster figure. She may be a yakshi or nature spirit, or some other goddess.
