Kniphofias or red hot pokers- the common name is derived from the 6ft flower spike, which looks like the glowing poker used in open fires. Kniphofias come in a range of colours including red, orange and yellow to almost lime green and white or a combination of these colours. Photographed at Mt Tomah Botanical garden.
