Delhi: 20th March 2022: Qutub Minar is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Delhi,India. It is a tall minaret that stands at a height of 73 meters (240 feet) and has five distinct stories or tiers,each marked by a projecting balcony. It is made of red sandstone and marble and is considered to be one of the finest examples of Indo-Islamic architecture.The construction of Qutub Minar was started by the first Muslim ruler of Delhi,Qutb-ud-din Aibak,in 1192,and it was completed by his successor,Iltutmish,in 1220. Apart from the Qutub Minar itself,the Qutub Minar complex also includes other historical structures such as the Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque,Alai Darwaza,Alai Minar,and the Iron Pillar of Delhi. The complex is a popular tourist destination and attracts visitors from all over the world who come to marvel at the impressive architecture and rich history of this iconic monument.
