The Everglades wading bird the Purple Gallinule is usually difficult to photograph because they act like like nervous businessmen - always moving. Considering the alligators that lurk below, it's completely understandable . They eat bugs and worms that live in the spatterdock roots, and have gorgeous coloring when the light hits their irridescent feathers.
