Guatemala's processions are a sociocultural and touristic activity that start during Lent and proceed throughout Holy Week. In September 2022, Guatemala’s Holy Week was inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of UNESCO. It's a religious and cultural festivity that commemorates the passion, death, and resurrection of Christ. The traditions related to Holy Week have been transmitted to the following generations for centuries, like the processions.
