The Bonneville Salt Flats are a densely packed salt pan in Tooele County in northwestern Utah. These potash canals are used for the mining of potassium and magnesium for fertilizer. They don't lead to the mountains, but to shallow potash pools, where the brine will eventually evaporate, leaving behind minerals.
