Stock Photo: Postern Gate Of Al-Masmak Fortress In Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

The main entrance to the Al-Masmak Fortress is a large gate, within which is a smaller postern gate almost a meter off the ground known as the Al Khokha. When the fort was stormed by Abdulaziz Al Saud in January 1902, a spear was thrown at the then-governor. It missed but the strength of the throw left its point stuck in the gate, where it remains to this day.
