Pongo pygmaeus, also known as the yellow gorilla, red gorilla, or brown ape, actually means "wild man in the forest" in Malay. They are large apes living in Asia, including Borneo orangutans and Sumatran orangutans, which only exist in the northern part of Sumatra. Orangutans live in tropical rainforests in lowland and mountainous areas, including brain fragrant forests and peat swamp forests.
